Deanna's Senior Session
Deanna is part of the Thespian Society and her school's chorus. She loves musicals and Elton John. She hates brussels sprouts. I love how smart and quick-witted she is. Her only request for her session was a field full of flowers. No problem!
We started her session at the studio and then moved on to the beautiful Hermitage Museum in Norfolk. Then, for her last outfit, we set out to find a field of flowers. Sounds easy, right? We drove for over 2 hours. We saw some beautiful flowers in a field and got super-excited, only to see they were behind a locked government-owned fence with a giant "No Trespassing" sign. Disappointed, we set off to search for a suitable field.
We found a neighborhood with a big bunny population (around a dozen bunnies, not a lot of GIANT bunnies)...but no field of flowers.
I am unorthodox in the way that I work. I do not perfectly plan out every session. I've learned to trust my intuition on all of my sessions. It never fails to come through for me. Everything happens for a reason. EVERYTHING.
Sometimes, I know exactly where we are going but most of the time we go out and explore. It leads me to the most amazing places. I've learned to trust in fate. Typically, it's about 15-20 minutes before we lose that big light in the sky. No light...no photography! On the inside I'm completely panicking...but still, I have faith. It does not let me down. That's how I know I am EXACTLY where I'm supposed to be...in life.
So, with about 15 minutes before the sun went down. My trusty sidekick, Madeline, says I know where we can go! (Her grandfather is a farmer in Chesapeake....so she knows a lot about the farming properties)
Finally, we arrive at a beautiful field, as the sun was setting. One of the prettiest sunsets I've ever seen.
Thanks to Julie for excellent hair/makeup and Madeline for excellent assisting, filming and dress throwing. Thanks to Joanne for having faith...in me.
