🐴⚔️ I photographed Addison as a fairy, when she was just a little girl. Fast forward to last year...when she joined the Fearless Spirit Model Crew. She used to be happy-go-lucky, outspoken and outgoing but that all changed when she went into middle school. She was excluded at school because she wasn't a "girly" girl.
Before the first model crew session, Addison said she cried on the way there. She was really apprehensive about going. All of the girls instantly connected with each other and started to have fun. After a couple of hours, she said she was "so glad she came". You could see the relief on her face. That made me so happy.
She loves rock and heavy metal music. She plays guitar. Love bats and Halloween and the show 'Stranger Things'. She loves horror movies and books.
She also really wanted a black horse in her personal photoshoot, so we partnered with Barnyard on Wheels for her shoot with the horse. During the session, once he had his chance, the horse ran off. It was really funny. (he didn't go far...just went back to his food). She was bold in her personal photoshoot. She chose to wear our giant black wings and don a sword. So dramatic and fun!!
Thank God...she's not a "girly" girl. The world would be so boring if we all were "girly" girls.
What is Fearless Spirit?
About 8 years ago, I started hearing from EVERY mother of a middle school girl, how their self-confidence plummeted when they reached middle school. This is when girls start to be mean and bully other girls. Their once out-going child, was now shy, sad, guarded and kept to themselves most of the time. And then, add Covid anxiety on top of that. They have a lot stacked against them. Parents can only do so much. Parents can tell them, until they’re blue in the face, how beautiful and special they are, but teens need something more.
Having self-confidence at this time in their life is vital for building a strong person, that will believe in themselves and succeed at their life goals. I began Fearless Spirit Model Crew for girls 11-16 years old, who are really struggling with their self-confidence and anxiety. This is a totally different approach to help teens. They get their own custom photoshoot and get to participate in 7-8 monthly fun and artistic group sessions.
By seeing beautiful images of themselves, over and over, for 7 months, they start to see how beautiful they are and how cool it is to be unique and stand out from the crowd.
