She's a Giant, Witty, Colorful Superhero in a Tiny, Adorable Package.
Katelyn is one of this year's Fearless Spirit Models. This is the behind the scenes video of her personal Fearless Spirit session.
Katelyn plays the violin and recently acquired an electric violin. It looks so cool and matched the dress she wore from the Storybook Closet, perfectly! I often tell my subjects to not smile and give me a serious look. Katelyn can't help but smile. Her smile and colorful energy radiates when you're around her. She may be a tiny little thing but her heart and smile are giant!
We laughed a lot on her session. For some reason, she couldn't stop yawning. It was hilarious. Then, the second dress had a hoop skirt in it. So, when she sat down, the hoop skirt went up! We all busted out laughing when that happened. When we took a break for lunch, we were all so excited because we could finally go to a restaurant, for the first time since Covid started. Katelyn had a lady bug crawling on her! So, that means good luck!
After lunch, we headed out for her last look. I knew we needed a colorful background for Katelyn. So, we headed to the VB Vibe district, which has really colorful murals painted by local artists. It was perfect! We quickly got her in front of one of the brightest murals and had her mom assist with throwing her colorful cape. She looked like a strong, beautiful superhero! We were only there for 5 minutes before it started pouring rain but we got great shots!
Through this experience, I've watched Katelyn come out of her quiet, shy shell...to make people laugh, act goofy, and show off her brilliant wit.

The Fearless Spirit Project
The Fearless Spirit Model Crew was created for middle school girls that are 10-16 years old, who are struggling with their self-confidence and/or bullying. They get to have their own personal session and they also get to participate in 6 monthly fun and artistic group sessions. We celebrate their individual quirks and show them how beautiful they are through images of themselves, over and over, for 6 months, they start to see how cool it is to be unique and stand out from the crowd. These sessions are SO much more than portraits...this will help them find their own WORTH in this world...these portrait sessions can literally be LIFE SAVERS.
